Comments

When visitors leave comments on this site, we collect the data shown in the comments form along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection. An anonymized string (hash) derived from your email address may be submitted to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After comment approval, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, we recommend avoiding images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may download and extract location data from any images displayed on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you do not need to re-enter your details when posting subsequent comments. These cookies will remain for one year.

If you access our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.

Upon logging in, additional cookies will be stored to maintain your session and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen preference cookies last for one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends your login session to two weeks. Logging out will remove these cookies.

Editing or publishing content may trigger an additional cookie saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

This site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles) from third-party websites. Such content behaves as if the visitor has accessed the other website directly. These websites may collect your data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email for security purposes.

How long we retain your data

If you post a comment, it and its metadata are stored indefinitely. This helps us recognize and approve future comments automatically.

Registered users (if applicable) may view, edit, or delete their personal data at any time, except their username. Website administrators can also access and manage this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including the data you have provided. You may also request the erasure of this data, subject to compliance with legal, administrative, or security obligations.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be scanned by an automated spam detection system.
